| Last season, Brown finished second in the region behind Dartmouth, earning a bid to the UPA College Championships for the seventh time in a row. A historically competitive team at the championships, it has finished in the quarterfinals the last two years in a row and had a semifinals appearance the year before that.
This year will be a rebuilding year for Brown as it graduated twelve players from last year's roster, including Callahan finalist Rebecca Simon and Cate Brown. These leaders will be tough to replace this year, but the team has firm traditions in place to help mold the next crop of players. Additionally, Ted Munter returns as the team's coach after successful seasons coaching Team USA and DoG. He is joined by Lady Godiva player Maureen McCamley. Although the team posted rather unimpressive fall tournament results, Brown has never been known for coming out strong during the fall as it usually combines its A and B teams into equally split squads. This year any bit of extra experience for the team's younger players early in the season will be crucial for the team to come together to make a run at one of the two bids expected for the Northeast. |
