| Dartmouth won 2005 Regionals and turned heads at the UPA College Championships. The team barely lost in pool play to Colorado and never backed down while playing Stanford in the pre-quarters. The team ultimately finished tied for 11th. That was the second year in a row that Dartmouth qualified for the championships, and it is striving to make it to Columbus, OH, this spring as well.
Although the team graduated 7 out of its 14-person roster from last year, the team still has a number of impact players left on the team. Callahan-nominee Lorraine Ferron will be difficult to replace, but Lakshmi Narayan and Liz Middleton are up to the task. Both gained valuable skills and experience playing with Lady Godiva during the club season. Moreover, the team will benefit from the addition of freshman Rohre Titcomb, a former juniors player who represented the USA at Worlds in 2004. Dartmouth started out its season with an impressive showing during the fall. The team won both Yale's Coffee Cup and Williams' Purple Valley tournaments. This spring the team is planning on attending multiple out-of-region tournaments as it prepares to defend the regional title. |
