Emory ended its season in 2005 with a close quarterfinals loss to NCSU 13-15. NCSU went on to win regionals and make an appearance in the quarterfinals at the UPA college championships. Although many did not tag Emory to make nationals in 2005, they came pretty close and proved that they would be a major contender for 2006. Despite being excited about the 2006 season, Emory did lose the big flicks of Laura Gold (2004 and 2005 All Region Player). She will be a tough hole to fill, but judging from Emory's fall performance, which includes a finals appearance at CCC, they are adjusting quite nicely.

This year, Luna will be led by Katherine Chou (#3), Adrienne Tecza (#8), and Amy Smith (#13). Chou will bring conistent handling to the team while Tecza and Smith will contribute persistent, tireless cutting. In addition to these ladies, Luna will also be offensively driven by the disciplined movement and crisp throws of Lauren Truxillo (#25), Jenie Yang (#31), and Erica Connelly (#9). The coaching staff at Emory is pretty impressive as well. Gold remains as an assistant coach to AJ Tiarsmith and they are also joined by UGA's ex-coach, Ricky. The knowledge of these three leaders will be evident in Emory's style of play which will showcase a more progressive offense complete with 2 handler zone O setups.

This year, Emory is slated to attend QCTU, Georgia Southerns, and Easterns. Expect Luna to be making a serious bid for one of the 2-3 bids to Columbus, OH this spring series.
