The Georgia Hodawgs finished out the 2005 college season with a semifinals loss to UVA at Regionals after beating them at Centex earlier in the year in a consolation game. In that Regionals game, Katherine Wooten (2005 AC All-Region Player) was sidelined most of the game due to an ankle injury. Now the Hodawgs return most of its roster, including Wooten (#1), and are more determined than ever to make regional and national noise this year.

Obviously, the Hodawgs will utilize Wooten's bombers, but this team has a considerable amount of weapons. UGA returns deep threats Maggie Jackson (#64) and Shanye Crawford (#83), who also gained additional championship experience with Ozone (2005 Club Semifinalists). Somehow, Lauren Rapp (#23) is eligible again this year and will add more bombs and big defensive pressure and Chelsea McGehee (#33) will be the defender they stick on annoying, offensively dangerous opponents. Finally, a coaching switch has been made and Eileen Murray (Ozone) will lead this group of talented women during the 2006 season.

Unfortunately, UGA's bid to QCTU never reached the TD for one reason or another. Naturally, they will be at their home tournament – Terminus. The rest of the world can only hope that they make it out to Centex, or a tournament of similar caliber, so a sneak peek can be taken of their potential. Of course, none of us were fooled by their CCC performance (0-7) and even though they quote their 2006 goal on the CCC website to be "To hook up at every tournament," we all know it will not stop there.
