  Notes on this week's rankings:
  • Wisconsin won its second tournament of the season, beating Michigan in the finals of Terminus (15-6). Michigan beat Wisconsin on Saturday of the tournament in a cross-over game (12-11)
  • On Saturday, Wisconsin won its pool over Wake Forest, Michigan won its pool over Emory, Notre Dame took its pool over NC State, and Georgia won its pool over Iowa State
  • Despite winning its pool on Saturday, Georgia lost to Emory in quarters (11-10). The other quarterfinal losers included Iowa State, Davidson, and Notre Dame
  • The tournament's semifinals saw Wisconsin defeat Emory (15-4) and Michigan defeat Wake Forest (16-14)
  • At the PLU BBQ, Humboldt State beat Washington in the finals 10-8
  • At the Huck of the Irish tournament, Swarthmore beat Delaware in the finals (13-6)

  Notes on this week's rankings:
  • Stanford won the Stanford Invite, beating UNC-Chapel Hill (10-9), Penn State (15-3), and Oregon (14-1) in pool play; UC-Davis (7-5) in quarters; British Columbia (10-5) in semifinals; and Colorado (10-5) in finals
  • Colorado won its pool over UC-Berkeley (15-4) and Emory (15-10), beat UNC-Chapel Hill (13-9) in quarters, and defeated UCLA (9-8) in semifinals
  • British Columbia and UCLA also each won their pools. UBC defeated UC-San Diego, Texas, and UC-Santa Cruz while UCLA beat UC-Davis, Washington, and Brown in pool play
  • Emory came in third in its pool, but defeated Washington to make quarterfinals, only to lose 5-9 to UBC
  • State College also came in third in its pool after losing a one point game to UNC. State College then beat UC-San Diego in pre-quarters and lost to UCLA 9-7 in quarters.
  • UC-San Diego technically won the 9th place game after Washington forfeited to catch its flight home
  • At the Atlantis tournament in Salisbury, MD, Cornell lost to NYU (10-12)

  • UCLA won the UCLA Invitational tournament, beating UC-Davis in finals (12-9) and UC-Berkeley in semis (13-8)
  • At that tournament, UC-Davis beat UC-Berkeley in pool play (13-9)
  • At Mardi Gras, Wisconsin won the tournament after playing Georgia in finals (13-5) and Texas in the semis (10-5)
  • Georgia beat Michigan (13-9) in the other semifinal game
  • Mardi Gras was Iowa's first tournament of the season and the team ended up in the consolation bracket after losing to Indiana and Arkansas in pool play
  • Florida lost in quarterfinals to Georgia, although the team was playing under the name "Florida X" since its roster was far from complete
  • The Stanford Invite Qualifier was won by UC-Santa Cruz, who played Humboldt in the finals.

  Notes on this week's rankings:
  • Colorado went undefeated at Trouble in Vegas, beating UCLA in the finals (11-9) and British Columbia (UBC) in semis
  • UCLA lost two games at that tournament, each by one point, to UBC and UC-Berkeley. The team later won close games against UC-Santa Barbara and Humboldt and beat Wisconsin 12-6 in the semifinals
  • Wisconsin came in third at the tournament with notable wins over UBC, Oregon, UC-Davis, and Tufts
  • The rest of the quarterfinalists in Vegas were UC-Davis, Tufts, UC-San Diego, and Northwestern. UCSD won the 5-8 bracket and UC-Berkeley won the 9-16 bracket
  • Dartmouth and Carleton had underwhelming performances in Vegas, moving from the Division I down to Division II for bracket play, ultimately finishing 20th and 19th, respectively at the early season tournament
  • Queen City Tune Up (QCTU) was won by Florida, who beat State College in the finals (12-7), Wake Forest in semis (10-6), and Michigan in quarters (7-6)
  • Emory also made semifinals, losing to State College (8-6) after beating Purdue (11-1) in quarters
  • The other quarterfinalists at QCTU were Virginia and UNC-Chapel Hill, who lost their match-ups to Wake Forest (6-10) and State College (7-9), respectively
  • Other notable games of the tournament included Virginia's (9-7) victory over UNC-Chapel Hill, and UNC's crossover game win over Michigan (10-5)

  • Stanford won the Santa Barbara Invite this past weekend, defeating UC-Davis (11-6) and UCLA (15-13) in semis and finals, respectively
  • At that tournament, UCLA lost to UC-Davis by one (8-9) in pool play, only to go on and beat UC-Berkeley (12-10) and UC-San Diego (11-4) in quarters and semis
  • UCSD defeated UC-Berkeley in pool play (13-7)
  • Also this past weekend, Colorado finished 10th at the New Years Fest club tournament in Tempe
  • At the Michigan Indoor tournament, January 14th and 15th, Michigan went undefeated, defeating Purdue in finals (11-2)
  • Purdue beat Northwestern (5-4) in a close semifinals game after already defeating Northwestern in round robin play

  Notes on the pre-season rankings:
  • Stanford won the 2005 UPA College Championships, defeating Washington in the finals (15-13).
  • Colorado, Texas, and Washington rounded out the other semifinals at the 2005 championships. The other quarterfinalists were Iowa, NC State, Brown, and UC-Berkeley.
  • During the fall of 2005, Stanford was undefeated, winning C.H.U.G. and Sean Ryan
  • Washington won O.F.U.D.G., defeating UC-Berkeley split squads and Humboldt State
  • Dartmouth won Coffee cup after defeating Cornell in finals (15-12) and made semifinals of Huck-a-Hunk-O-Burnin'-Pumpkin
  • At Huck-a-Hunk-O-Burnin'-Pumpkin, Cornell beat Dartmouth twice and won the tournament.
  • The Wolfpack Invitational was won by Wake Forest, who bested Florida (12-10) and NC State (14-9) in semis and finals. Virginia was the other semifinalist
  • Florida won C.C.C., beating UNC-Chapel Hill (11-6) and Emory (13-12) in semis and finals. Tufts also made semifinals at the tournament
